Wake before dawn to watch the sunrise paint the dunes in shades of gold and orange. Enjoy breakfast at the camp before returning by camel or 4x4. Tour concludes.

Spring (March–May) and autumn (Sept–Nov) offer the most pleasant desert temperatures. Summer can be extremely hot; winters are cold at night but beautifully clear.
Light, breathable clothing for daytime and warm layers for cool desert nights. A headscarf for wind and sun protection, sunscreen, and a good camera are essential.
Bring cash as ATMs are scarce near Merzouga. Stay hydrated. Early morning and late afternoon are the best times to photograph the dunes in golden light.
