Spring (March–May) and autumn (Sept–Nov) offer the most pleasant desert temperatures. Summer can be extremely hot; winters are cold at night but beautifully clear.

What to Bring

Light, breathable clothing for daytime and warm layers for cool desert nights. A headscarf for wind and sun protection, sunscreen, and a good camera are essential.

Desert Tips

Bring cash as ATMs are scarce near Merzouga. Stay hydrated. Early morning and late afternoon are the best times to photograph the dunes in golden light.
